The TEC1-12706 6A Thermoelectric Cooler Peltier Module represents a straightforward implementation of the Peltier Thermoelectric Effect. This module comprises 127 semiconductor couples within a 40 x 40mm area, effectively facilitating both cooling and heating up to 90°C.
Also referred to as a TEC or Peltier module, the thermoelectric cooler generates a temperature disparity on each side. One side becomes hot while the other side cools. These modules serve the purpose of either heating or cooling; notably, both sides can be utilized. Additionally, exploiting the temperature difference can lead to electricity generation.
A thermoelectric cooler (TEC) module operates as a semiconductor-based electronic component, functioning akin to a miniature heat pump. Upon applying a DC power source to a TEC, heat transfers from one side of the module to the other, establishing a cold and hot side. Widely employed across industrial sectors, TEC modules find applications in various domains such as computer CPUs, CCDs, portable refrigerators, medical instruments, and more.
