Four BO motors require two L298N motor driver chips since each handles only two motors at a time. A single L298N will not control all four motors independently. The non-obvious advantage of the double layer acrylic design is structural — the two plates connected by standoffs create a rigid box frame that resists twisting under motor load, which keeps all four wheels in consistent ground contact during turns and prevents wheel lift on uneven surfaces.
