The 6 Wheel Tank DIY Robot Chassis Kit is a six-wheel-drive robot platform built around dual shaft BO motors rated at 200 RPM and 0.35 kg·cm torque. Six BO motor wheels arranged in a tank-style layout give the platform stable contact with the ground across rough, uneven, and outdoor terrain. The 6wd rover chassis kit is designed for engineering students and robotics builders who need a multi-wheel platform that handles more terrain types than a standard 2WD or 4WD chassis.

A motor driver like L298N handles only two motors per chip — driving all six requires three L298N chips or a higher-capacity driver board. Plan your power supply accordingly before assembly. The non-obvious advantage of this chassis is that the tank layout allows skid steering — turning is achieved by running left and right wheels at different speeds, which eliminates the need for a separate servo-based steering mechanism entirely.
