The Thermal Sensor Relay Module is a combined thermal sensing and switching unit that uses temperature input to automatically control an output relay (an electrically operated switch that opens or closes a circuit based on a control signal). The relay thermal module triggers at 5V DC and can switch switching loads up to 250V AC at 10A, covering most home appliance and industrial control applications from a standard 3.3V to 5V microcontroller pin.
The thermal sensor relay uses an internal bimetallic or NTC (Negative Temperature Coefficient) sensing element to monitor temperature and activates the relay output when the set threshold is reached. relay modules like this one have a coil that requires a flyback diode (a diode placed across the relay coil to absorb the voltage spike generated when the coil turns off) to protect your microcontroller’s GPIO pin from damage. The honest limitation is the maximum operating current of 0.15A on the control side. Drawing more than 0.15A from the trigger circuit will damage the onboard control electronics. The operating temperature range covers -40°C to 100°C, which means the module can survive outdoor enclosures in both winter cold and summer heat.
The thermal relay sensor module connects to Arduino, GPIO output pins through standard VCC, GND, and signal connections. Automation developers and makers build home appliance control, industrial project use it. StemVolt provide this module tested for confirmed relay switching at the specified load ratings.
