The 2WD DIY Robot Car Chassis Kit is an acrylic two-wheel-drive robot platform built around two BO motors rated at 200 RPM and a front caster wheel for three-point ground contact. It runs on 3V to 6V DC and is directly compatible with Arduino boards, Raspberry Pi, and motor driver modules including L298N and L293D. The 2wd chassis kit is the starting point for most beginner Arduino robot projects — line followers, obstacle avoidance bots, and Bluetooth-controlled cars all use this platform as a base.

You will need an L298N or L293D module to connect the BO motors to your Arduino or Raspberry Pi. GPIO pins cannot directly drive BO motor current loads. The non-obvious advantage of this robot car chassis kit is the caster wheel placement it allows the chassis to pivot smoothly during differential steering without any rear drag or friction, which makes turning radius tighter than fixed rear-axle designs at the same motor speed.
