The 5V USB power bank case converts one or more 18650 Li-Ion cells into a portable USB power bank the case handles voltage regulation, charge management and USB output, while the 18650 cells supply the raw energy storage. The aluminium body houses, the cells and the integrated charge and boost circuit that steps the 18650’s 3.7V nominal voltage up to the 5V USB standard that phones, Arduino boards and USB-powered electronics devices. Loading the case with 18650 cells and connecting Micro-USB for charging creates a functional power bank without buying a pre-built sealed unit the cells are user-replaceable when capacity degrades.
The 18650 power bank case charges through Micro-USB at 5V up to 1.5A and discharges through USB-A at up to 2A output. Confirm the number of 18650 cells the case accepts with the supplier capacity depends directly on how many cells fit and their individual mAh rating. The 5V power bank aluminium construction gives the case more physical durability than plastic-bodied equivalents during transport and field use. Available on StemVolt. This power bank case is working on portable power and 18650-based USB power bank projects.
