3.17MM Prop Saver with Band

The 3.17mm Prop Saver with Band is an aluminum motor shaft collar with a rubber O-ring band that holds the propeller in place during normal flight but releases the propeller cleanly on crash impact — protecting both the propeller and the motor shaft from damage. Where a rigid prop nut holds the propeller tightly against the motor at all times, the prop saver 3.17mm uses a rubber O-ring stretched around the propeller hub and the aluminum collar to retain.

The prop during flight, but allows the O-ring to slip and the prop to pop free the moment a crash impact force is applied, so neither the propeller nor the motor shaft absorbs the full crash load. The 3.17 mm prop saver fits the 3.17mm (1/8 inch) motor shaft used on small brushless motors in the 1306, 1806, and 2204 series common to mini RC planes and light quadcopters.

The aluminum collar and the rubber O-ring has a 20mm outer diameter, 14mm inner diameter, and 3mm thickness. After a crash, the prop saver rc drone setup is reset in seconds — refit the prop over the collar, stretch the O-ring back into the groove, and the aircraft is ready to fly again without replacing broken propellers or bent shafts.
