The ESP8266 D1 Mini V2 WiFi Microcontroller Board is a compact esp8266 d1 mini form factor board with 11 digital I/O pins, one 10-bit analog input, 4MB of flash memory, and integrated 2.4GHz WiFi 802.11 b/g/n. The esp8266 mini board connects to a PC via Micro USB for programming and power, operating at 3.3V logic. It is compatible with the Arduino IDE using the ESP8266 board support package, the NodeMCU Lua firmware, and MicroPython — giving builders three distinct programming environment options on the same hardware.

The esp8266 d1 mini compact form factor makes it one of the smallest WiFi-capable development boards available at this price point. The 4MB flash provides sufficient space for large Arduino sketches with OTA partition, full NodeMCU firmware, or MicroPython with additional modules. One practical trade-off: the board has only one analog input pin rated at 3.3V maximum — connecting any voltage above 3.3V on the analog pin will damage the ADC permanently. Use a voltage divider for any sensor output exceeding this limit before connecting to A0.
