The fsi6s transmitter and receiver system operates on 2.4GHz using FlySky’s AFHDS 2A (Automatic Frequency Hopping Digital System 2nd Generation) protocol, which continuously hops across the 2.4GHz band to maintain a stable, interference-resistant link between the transmitter and the receiver mounted on the drone.
The FS-i6S transmitter features a touchscreen interface alongside its physical gimbals and switches — a notable feature in the budget RC transmitter segment that allows menu navigation, model setup, and parameter configuration through the touch display rather than scroll buttons, making it more accessible for drone builders setting up their first APM or Pixhawk-based quadcopter without navigating complex button menus. The flysky rc controller configuration as default — the standard layout where the left stick controls throttle on the vertical axis and yaw on the horizontal axis, and the right stick controls pitch and roll — which is the expected layout for F450 and F550 quadcopter drones.
