The NRF24L01 2.4GHz Wireless Transceiver Module is a short-range radio communication board that sends and receives data wirelessly using the 2.4GHz ISM (Industrial Scientific Medical) band. The nrf24l01 wireless module communicates with a microcontroller over SPI (Serial Peripheral Interface — a four-wire high-speed bus) and supports data rates of 250kbps, 1Mbps, and 2Mbps. It uses GFSK (Gaussian Frequency Shift Keying — a modulation method that shapes the signal to reduce spread into neighbouring channels) to transmit clean data packets. Transmission range reaches up to 100 meters in open space, which covers most indoor and short outdoor project needs.

A non-obvious detail about the nrf24l01 wireless module 2.4 ghz is that it supports up to six data pipes simultaneously. Each pipe is a separate logical channel that lets one receiver talk to up to six different transmitters without frequency changes. Connecting it directly to a 5V Arduino SPI bus without a level shifter damages the module permanently. A 3.3V regulator or logic-level converter is mandatory between the module and a 5V board.
