Description

The Passive Buzzer Module produces sound by vibrating when driven with a PWM square wave from a microcontroller GPIO pin. Unlike an active buzzer that self-oscillates, a passive buzzer sensor requires a frequency signal from your code. The module runs on 3.3V to 5V DC and covers a tone range of 1.5 to 2.5kHz, which is clearly audible in a quiet room.

The buzzer module uses a 2.54mm pin pitch header, so it plugs straight into a breadboard. A non-obvious detail is that the tone frequency you drive it at determines the pitch, so you can play simple melodies or vary the alarm tone in software using in Arduino. At 2.5kHz maximum, the output is not as loud as a piezo buzzer driven at resonant frequency.

Students and project builders use the passive buzzer arduino connection with tone() in Arduino IDE or MicroPython. StemVolt provides this sensor with trusted quality, ensuring reliable performance.
