Description

The 4 Channel IR Infrared Tracing Sensor Module reads the boundary between a dark line and a light surface using four independent IR (Infrared) emitter and receiver pairs. The 4 ch ir tracking sensor arduino works on 3.3V to 5V DC and outputs four separate digital signals, one per channel. Detection range adjusts from 1mm to 60cm using onboard potentiometers (small variable resistors).

The 4 ch ir infrared sensor uses IR reflectance sensing, where each channel emits infrared and measures how much bounces back from the surface below. One non-obvious detail — a highly polished white floor can reflect so much infrared that it triggers false detection. The honest limitation is sunlight interference. Strong direct sunlight overwhelms the IR receivers and causes incorrect output readings. Use indoors only. To start, mount the module facing the ground, connect each output to a digital pin, and read HIGH or LOW per channel.
