The Water Flow Measurement Sensor 1–30 LPM uses a hall effect paddle wheel inside a plastic housing to count liquid passing through a pipe. Every liter of water spins the wheel and generates exactly 450 pulses on the signal wire, giving you a precise digital count to work with rather than a drifting analog voltage. Operating on 5 to 18V DC, it covers a flow sensor yf s201 working range of 1 to 30 liters per minute and handles pipe pressures up to 2.0 MPa.

The output duty cycle is 50% ±10%, which means the pulse waveform is close to a square wave and reads cleanly on any interrupt pin. Flow rates near 1 LPM the pulse interval stretches to roughly 130 milliseconds, so a polling loop running slower than that will drop counts. Reading on a hardware interrupt instead of a loop fixes this completely. One trade-off is the ±10% accuracy rating, so this water folw sensor suits volume tracking and relay control in a water flow system rather than laboratory-grade measurement.
