The F450/F550 Frame Landing Gear Skid is a 190mm tall ABS plastic landing skid set for F450 and F550 multirotor drone frames that raises the drone body high enough above the ground to provide clearance for a camera gimbal or payload mounted beneath the frame during landing and takeoff. Without landing gear, the frame center sits close to the ground and any gimbal or camera attached below the frame would strike the ground on landing.
The 190mm height of this quadcopter landing gear provides sufficient vertical clearance for most compact camera gimbal systems used on F450 and F550 photography builds in India. The 330mm bottom span of the drone landing gear provides a wide, stable contact footprint on the ground that prevents the drone from tipping sideways on uneven terrain during landing. The f450 drone landing gear also protects propellers during landing by keeping the frame elevated so that even on a slightly rough landing the props have clearance above the ground surface.
On F450 builds without landing gear, the bottom of the frame can contact the ground on hard landings and the propeller tips can strike the surface on tilted touchdowns — this landing gear eliminates both risks by holding the entire frame at a safe height above ground on four widely spaced ABS skid contact points. The f550 landing gear skid mounts to the frame’s lower arm bolt positions and requires no additional hardware.
