The PDC004 PD Decoy Module is a compact USB Power Delivery trigger board that negotiates with a USB-C PD-compatible charger to request and lock a fixed 9V output — without requiring any microcontroller, code, or manual configuration — by using the PDC004 IC to perform the USB PD handshake automatically the moment a PD charger is connected to the Type-C input port. The pdc004 decoy module converts any standard USB-C PD charger into a 9V DC power source with up to 5A output current, providing up to 45W of clean regulated power for projects that need more than the standard 5V USB output but want to use the convenience and availability of USB-C PD chargers rather than a dedicated bench power supply.

The type-c pd module measures just 19×11mm — small enough to embed directly into a project enclosure, power distribution board, or custom PCB — and outputs the negotiated 9V on solder pads that connect directly to the project’s power rail. The usb pd decoy module works with any USB-C charger that supports the USB Power Delivery standard at 9V, which covers most modern 18W and above PD chargers. Available from StemVolt.
