The 10k thermistor temperature sensor works opposite to many sensors — as temperature increases, the thermistor’s resistance decreases, and this resistance change is read as a varying analog voltage through a voltage divider.

The 10k temperature sensor module’s key technical difference from linear sensors like the LM35 is that the NTC thermistor’s resistance-to-temperature relationship is non-linear — accurately converting the analog reading to temperature requires the Beta equation or Steinhart-Hart approximation rather than a simple multiplication, though many Arduino libraries handle this calculation automatically.
