Description

The colour sensor module detects the colour of a surface by reading the light reflected back from it. It outputs a 4-bit analog signal (a value across 4 data lines) that your microcontroller reads to identify the colour present. Operating voltage is 3V to 5V DC, so it works with Arduino Uno and most other common boards without any extra components. The colour sensor module connects via 6 pins and starts giving readings as soon as power is applied.

One non-obvious technical detail is that the 4-bit analog output gives you up to 16 distinct output combinations, but real-world colour detection depends heavily on ambient lighting conditions. Bright overhead light or direct sunlight can wash out readings entirely. Use it for broad colour categories like red, green, blue, and black rather than fine shade matching.

robotics builders, and educators use colour detection sensor for sorting machines, line-following robots, and colour-based game projects. Connect the 6 pins to your board and read analog values on four input pins. StemVolt provides this sensor with trusted quality, ensuring reliable performance and easy usability.
