DPDT Joystick Remote Control Module for DC Motor

The DPDT Joystick Remote Control Module applies that switching principle to a joystick-style actuator with ON-OFF-ON momentary toggle action — push the joystick forward and the motor runs one direction, release it to centre and the motor stops, push backward and the motor reverses. A DPDT — Double Pole Double Throw — switch connects one input to two possible outputs while simultaneously switching a second input to two corresponding outputs. In a DC motor direction control circuit, that switching action reverses the polarity across the motor terminals, changing rotation from forward to reverse without any microcontroller or PWM driver involved.

The rc joystick module controls two independent motor channels from one module body, making it suitable for two-motor robot chassis builds where left and right motors need separate directional control. Each channel handles up to 2A at 5V to 12V DC — adequate for small DC gear motors, BO motors, and hobby gearbox motors in lightweight robot builds. The dpdt joystick module 6-pin interface connects power supply and two motor outputs directly without additional driver circuitry between the module and the motors.

Motors with stall current above 2A will damage the internal switch contacts over repeated stall events, particularly in obstacle-encounter situations where motors stall momentarily against resistance.
