Description

The Vibration Sensor Module detects mechanical vibration and outputs a digital 0 or 1 through an onboard LM393 comparator IC. When vibration exceeds the sensitivity threshold, the comparator switches output state and your GPIO reads the change. The vibration sensor runs on 3.3V to 5V DC and fits directly on any Arduino or ESP32 board without extra components.

The shock detector sensor sensitivity adjusts through an onboard potentiometer, so you can set the trigger threshold by turning the screw rather than editing code. A non-obvious detail is that the LM393 output is open-collector, meaning it pulls LOW on detection. Without a pull-up resistor the output floats in the HIGH state. Most Arduino GPIO pins have an internal pull-up you can enable with pinMode(pin, INPUT_PULLUP) to read cleanly.

Students and security project builders use the shock sensor module with Arduino IDE using digitalRead or attachInterrupt. StemVolt provide this module with the LM393 IC pre-soldered and potentiometer accessible.

Frequently Asked Questions
How does a Vibration Sensor Module detect vibration?
+
The Vibration Sensor Module uses a spring contact inside the sensor body that touches the central pin on vibration. The LM393 comparator reads that contact and switches the digital output between 0 and 1 on your Arduino GPIO pin immediately.
Can I adjust the sensitivity of this vibration sensor?
+
Yes, the vibration sensor has an onboard potentiometer you can turn to adjust the LM393 threshold without changing any code. Turn it clockwise to increase sensitivity so the shock detector sensor triggers on lighter impacts and lower vibration amplitudes.
What operating voltage does this Vibration Sensor Module need?
+
The Vibration Sensor Module runs on 3.3V to 5V DC. It connects directly to Arduino Uno at 5V or ESP32 at 3.3V with no extra components. The shock sensor module draws minimal current so it runs safely from a standard GPIO power pin.
What output does this vibration module give?
+
The vibration module gives a digital switch output that toggles between 0 and 1. The LM393 comparator pulls the output LOW on vibration detection. Enable INPUT_PULLUP in Arduino IDE to get a stable HIGH state without adding an external pull-up resistor.
Where can I buy the Vibration Sensor Module in India?
+
You can buy the Vibration Sensor Module at the best price on stemvolt.in with fast shipping across India. The module includes the LM393 comparator IC and onboard potentiometer, so no additional components are needed to start testing on your Arduino or ESP32 board.
