The 27mm Piezoelectric Ceramic Buzzer generates sound by applying an alternating voltage (a signal that switches polarity rapidly) to a piezo ceramic disc (a ceramic plate that physically flexes with each voltage cycle). The piezo ceramic buzzer produces its rated tone at 10kHz with a sound pressure level of 85dB — about as loud as a ringing phone at arm’s length. The cable comes pre-soldered, so there is no assembly needed before connecting to a circuit.

The 27mm piezoelectric disc works as both a buzzer and a passive vibration sensor depending on how it is wired.
