The 4CH Remote Control Transmitter Receiver is a 27MHz RF (Radio Frequency) wireless module set that gives your project four independent remote-controlled channels without any wires. The 4-Channel rc wireless module comes as a matched pair — one transmitter and one receiver PCB — that communicate only with each other at 27MHz. Each button press on the transmitter toggles one of the four output channels on the receiver, which you can wire to relays (electrically controlled switches) or directly to GPIO pins on a microcontroller.

One non-obvious detail about the 4 channel module is that 27MHz is an older, unlicensed ISM band (Industrial Scientific Medical band). It has longer wavelength than 433MHz modules, meaning it penetrates walls better at the same transmit power. The receiver operating voltage of 3.7V to 6V and the transmitter voltage of 3.7V to 9V are different ranges — so always use separate supply sources for each board.
