The BLE-Nano 4.2 Devlopment Board is an Arduino Nano compatible microcontroller board that integrates a CC2540 Bluetooth Low Energy 4.2 chip directly onto the same PCB as the ATmega328P-MU microcontroller. This gives the board standard Arduino Nano pin compatibility with 22 digital I/O pins, 8 analog inputs, 6 PWM outputs, 32KB flash, and 2KB SRAM — while adding wireless BLE 4.2 connectivity without needing a separate Bluetooth module. The arduino nano ble combination in a single compact form factor significantly reduces project wiring complexity for IoT builds.

The Type-C USB interface is a major practical upgrade over the Mini-USB connector found on original Arduino Nano boards. Type-C cables are reversible, more widely available, and less prone to connector wear than Micro-USB or Mini-USB alternatives. The ble nano board programs via the Arduino IDE using the same workflow as a standard Nano — no special driver configuration is required beyond standard CH340 or FTDI USB-serial setup.
