The hx711 amplifier operates from 5V to 10V DC at under 1.5mA normal operating current, and the dual channel design allows connection of two load cells or selectable gain configurations for different weight ranges on a single board.

The hx711 load cell amplifier 24-bit ADC resolution provides extremely fine measurement granularity — a typical 5kg load cell connected to this hx711 module can resolve weight changes well below 1 gram, making the hx711 weight sensor suitable for precision kitchen scales, laboratory balances, and industrial weighing applications. The load cell module differential analog input connects to the four wires of a standard load cell (Red/E+, Black/E-, White/A-, Green/A+), and the HX711_ADC or Arduino-LoadCell library handles raw value reading, tare zeroing, and calibration factor application for converting raw ADC counts to grams or kilograms.

HX711 module requires a one-time calibration process — placing a known reference weight on the load cell and recording the raw ADC reading establishes the calibration factor; without this calibration step, the raw 24-bit values have no defined relationship to actual weight units.
