Description

The BMP180 Digital Barometric Pressure Sensor Module measures atmospheric pressure from 300 to 1100 hPa using a MEMS (Micro Electro Mechanical System) pressure sensor and outputs calibrated digital readings over I2C (a two-wire communication bus). The bmp180 sensor runs on 1.8V to 3.6V input voltage, so it works directly with 3.3V boards without a level shifter. Each pressure reading takes just 5 milliseconds to convert.

The bmp180 pressure sensor has a factory-calibrated EEPROM (a non-volatile memory chip) on board that stores individual compensation values for that specific sensor. Skipping this step gives wrong readings every time. The honest limitation is the 3.6V maximum input voltage. Connecting 5V directly damages the sensor permanently. The barometric pressure sensor connects to Arduino, ESP32, and STM32 I2C pins. To start, connect SDA and SCL, power with 3.3V, and install the Adafruit BMP085 library. StemVolt provide this sensor with confirmed I2C communication and pressure output.
