12V DC 1/2 Inch Electric Solenoid Valve | Normally Closed Water Air Valve Switch

The 12V DC 1/2 Inch Electric Solenoid Valve controls fluid or air flow through a half-inch pipe by opening or closing an internal plunger when 12V DC is applied. In its resting state the solenoid valve stays closed, which means fluid flow only happens when power is on. This is a normally closed design, so any power failure automatically stops the flow — useful in safety-critical irrigation and water control builds.

The electric solenoid valve handles pressure from 0.02 to 0.8MPa and draws between 600mA and 1A at 12V. A non-obvious detail is that a minimum pressure of 0.02MPa is required to hold the valve seat open reliably once the coil lifts the plunger. If your system pressure drops below this threshold, the valve may not open fully even with power applied. The aluminium body keeps the total weight at just 100 grams, making it light enough for mounted panel installations.
